T. rothii (T214)
Large, near blooming specimen of this frequently requested species. One of the species from western Mexico that tolerates full sun and high humidity. Can be sensitive to cold. The foliage is normally yellow, but when it is ready to bloom it will turn a stunning bright red color. S. Gardner has suggested that this is an introgressive hybrid between T. jalisco-monticola and T. roland gosselini. Not completely sure I agree, but could be. Regardless, it is a beautiful plant, and yes we have grown them in pots!
